CLES FACIL - Rocketry Club
Head of Mechanics, Propulsion, and Technical Referent for 2025-2026.
Overview
Tasked with revitalizing the association’s technical capabilities, I am leading the mechanical team (14 members) and give training for 30+ members in CAD (SolidWorks and Catia), simulation (stress and strain, thermal, and fluids in 3DExperience and StarCCM), and composites manufacturing (CFRP).
I also serve as consultant in the organizational transformation of the association.
Technical Contributions
Parametric Design Pipeline Developing a robust workflow linking aerodynamic formulas and OpenRocket parameters to 3DExperience for rapid geometry design. This allows for seamless transition from flight stability calculations to CAD generation and subsequent FEA/CFD iteration.
Aerodynamic Optimization Transitioned the rocket design from simple geometries to advanced profiles, including a Haack series nose cone and elliptical non-linear sweep fins with wing profiles for drag reduction and stability pareto-optimization.
Advanced Manufacturing Directing the shift to composite materials for the rocket body. I secured sponsorship from Hexcel to utilize aerospace-grade carbon fiber and am currently establishing the manufacturing processes for complex molded geometries.
Propulsion Revived the R&D roadmap for a liquid-fuel rocket engine intended for future EuRoC (European Rocketry Challenge) participation.
